List on Language In Use

Run a language school, teach privately, or work as a translator? Add a profile to our directory so learners across the platform can find you. Listings are free, admin-reviewed, and visible across web and mobile.

Three kinds of provider

Pick whichever fits — you can only have one listing per account.

A language school, academy, or centre with a physical or online campus. Suitable for institutions teaching multiple students.

Listing shows:

  • School name + logo
  • Languages taught + accreditation
  • City, country, address, contact
  • Approximate student count

How registration works

Four steps, no fee. From sign-up to a live listing usually takes 1–2 working days.

  1. Create a Language In Use account if you don't have one yet. Sign up here — it's the same regular member account a learner would create.
  2. Pick a provider kind. From your account home, scroll to "Become a provider" and click the card that matches you. (Or jump straight to /register/school, /register/teacher or /register/translator.)
  3. Fill the form and submit. Required fields are minimal — name and email. Everything else (bio, languages, photo, qualifications, rate) helps your listing rank higher and convert better, but you can come back and edit any of it later.
  4. Wait for admin review. An admin checks the submission within 1–2 working days. You'll get an in-app notification when the decision lands. Approved → your listing goes live in the directory. Rejected → you'll see a reason and can edit + resubmit.

What approval gets you Live now

  • A public profile page at /school/{slug}, /teacher/{slug}, or /translator/{slug}.
  • A row in the public directory — searchable by kind, country, city, and language.
  • A pin on the directory map (when you've supplied a city + country we can geocode).
  • A role badge on your account (School, Teacher, or Translator) that unlocks the My listing entry in your navbar — your editing dashboard.
  • Inclusion in any future provider-only features (see roadmap below) without needing to re-register.

Teaching tools Roadmap

The features below are on the build queue, not live yet. Listing today locks in your role so you'll be first in line when each one ships — no re-registration, no migration. Approximate ordering, dates not committed.

Classes Live now

Schools and teachers create classes — a named group (e.g. "Italian B1 — Tuesday evenings") with a syllabus and a roster of students. Each class gets a private space at /my/class/{id} visible only to its members. Manage from /my/classes.

Who: Schools (multiple classes per school) + Teachers (one or more classes you run yourself). Translators don't get classes — work is project-based.

Invite students Live now

Generate a one-time invite link from inside any class — share it with a student over chat, email, or wherever. Each link works once and expires after 14 days. The student clicks the link, signs in (or creates an account), and lands inside the class as a roster member.

Who: Class owners only — co-teachers, attendance, and bulk-email invites are on the queue for v2.

Organise classes

Schedule meetings with a date, duration, and location/URL. Mark attendance per student. Set homework with due dates and per-student completion. Re-order the syllabus by drag-drop. Clone an existing class as a template for the next term.

Who: Schools + Teachers.

Share content with students

Pin a Language In Use post, verb, or word page to a class — it shows up on the class timeline with optional notes from you ("read this for next week", "watch the conjugation tab"). Upload documents (PDF, audio, images) up to 10 MB each. Students can highlight + take notes on shared posts the same way they do on the public site, and you see who's actually opened what.

Who: Schools + Teachers (per class). Translators get a lighter version — share a portfolio piece or sample translation on your public profile.

Ground rules

  • One listing per account. If you teach and translate, contact an admin and we'll lift the limit manually.
  • Your name is locked once a listing is approved so deep links + SEO stay stable. Other fields stay editable any time. Rebrand? Email an admin.
  • No spam, no fake credentials, no stolen photos. We do spot-check the certification body and accreditation fields.
  • Repeated misuse — copy-paste listings, fake locations, misleading rates — ends in suspension and removal from the directory.

Skip to your account: /my has the three "Become a provider" cards waiting in a section on the page. Click whichever fits and you'll land on the right form already filled with your name and email.
